New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 5 October 2026 shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam that describes the qualities of a noble-hearted and exceptional person.
In a post on X, he quoted the verse:
“शुचित्वं त्यागिता शौर्यं सामान्यं सुखदुःखयोः।
दाक्षिण्यं चानुरक्तिश्च सत्यता च सुहृद्गुणाः॥
The Prime Minister said the subhashitam conveys that purity of heart, a spirit of sacrifice, courage, equanimity in both joy and sorrow, competence, affection and truthfulness are the defining traits of a person endowed with a noble heart and an exceptional personality.
He added that these are not merely the qualities of an ordinary friend, but rather the defining features of such a person.
