New Delhi: NTPC Limited has appointed Diwakar Nath Misra, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power, as a Government Nominee Director on its Board with effect from 23 October, 2026.
The appointment follows a Ministry of Power order dated 19 October, 2026. Misra will continue on the NTPC Board for as long as he holds his position in the ministry, unless otherwise directed.
Misra's Administrative Career
A 2000-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, Misra has held positions across several government departments during his career.
His previous assignments include:
District administration, Assam
Served as Deputy Commissioner of Dhemaji and Golaghat districts.
Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas
Served as Director/Joint Secretary.
Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB)
Held the position of Secretary.
Department of Commerce
Served as Joint Secretary.
Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance
Took charge as Additional Secretary in August 2025.
Other administrative roles
Served on the Board of Revenue and as Principal Secretary in the North Cachar Hills administration.
PSU board experience
Previously served on the boards of SJVN Limited and NHPC Limited.
Regulatory Disclosure
NTPC has stated that Misra is not related to any other director on its Board, is not debarred from holding the position by SEBI or any other authority, and does not hold shares in the company.
The company notified the BSE and NSE of the appointment under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
