
New Delhi: The Sensex reached 71,876.10. The Nifty reached 22,310.40 in early trade on Friday as buying in technology shares . This helped the market recover after two sessions of losses .
Tata Consultancy Services gained more than 4% after reporting a 15% rise in net profit. to 13,884 crore rupees. Other IT companies like Infosys, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra also had gains. ITC, Adani Ports and HDFC Bank were also among the companies that went up.
Cheaper oil prices helped a little with Brent oil dropping 1.11 percent to 103 dollars a barrel. However the market was still not clear. Some companies, like Eternal, Bharat Electronics, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank went down.
Foreign investors sold shares 12,943.58 crore rupees on Thursday according to the exchange data. International markets also had results. Japans Nikkei 225 and Chinas SSE Composite went down. Hong Kongs Hang Seng went up. The US markets had mostly gone down the day
The gains came after the market went down on Thursday. The Sensex lost 1,045.46 points. Closed at 71,593.24. The Nifty fell 371.25 points. Closed at 22,231.80.
