New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian team for their performance at the 2026 Asian Games, which concluded in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on October 4, 2026.
India finished at fourth position in games with 85 medals (21 Gold, 27 Silver and 37 Bronze medals)
PM Modi hoped that this victory would motivate the athletes to do even better in future.
He also said that it would help strengthen sports at the grassroots level. Ina post on X, he wrote:
“As the Asian Games 2026 draw to a close, my compliments to every member of the Indian contingent for representing our nation with determination, passion and remarkable sporting spirit.
Congratulations to all our medal winners, whose performances have brought immense joy to the nation.
May these Games inspire even greater achievements in the years ahead. May they contribute to strengthening sports at the grassroots too.”
