
New Delhi: The Central Government yesterday appointed PLSS Chaitanya Prakash as the Director (Power) of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited (NLC).
In an intimation letter for SEBI compliance, the company said Prakash’s tenure will range from the date of assumption of charge, 05 October 2026, to his superannuation on 31 December 2029 or until further orders.
Before his appointment in the current position, Prakash held the position of Executive Director at Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), where he was involved in strategic operations and execution of major capital projects. Furthermore, the newly appointed director has also worked in companies like GVREL and Coal India Limited (CIL).
As Director at NLC, his duties include overseeing the operations at thermal power stations, managing large-scale power infrastructure, integrating emerging technologies, and expanding renewable technology.
NLC is a premier Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) in Tamil Nadu, under the Ministry of Coal.
