New Delhi: Indian Navy warship INS Sahyadri has successfully concluded its participation in the India–Republic of Korea Navy (IN–RoKN) bilateral exercise at Busan, South Korea, on 29 October 2026.
The engagement aimed to strengthen maritime cooperation, improve interoperability and build mutual understanding between the two navies.
Harbour Phase: Professional and Cultural Exchanges
The harbour phase featured professional discussions, cross-deck visits, operational briefings and subject matter expert exchanges between personnel of the Indian Navy and the Republic of Korea Navy.
The interactions provided an opportunity to share operational perspectives and best practices. Cultural exchanges and sporting activities also helped build camaraderie and strengthen ties between the personnel.
Sea Phase: Joint Maritime Operations
During the sea phase, INS Sahyadri and Republic of Korea Navy ship ROKS Munmu the Great undertook coordinated navigation, helicopter operations and joint maritime manoeuvres.
The activities allowed both navies to practise coordination at sea, familiarise themselves with each other’s operating procedures and improve their ability to work together during maritime operations.
Strengthening Indo-Pacific Cooperation

Such interactions help build mutual trust and contribute to collective efforts to maintain peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
