
New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos Hessebon met on Friday. They talked about ways to make the India Ethiopia strategic partnership stronger. Their discussion covered trade, investment, development projects, infrastructure, maritime, security, technology and culture. Both leaders seemed focused on building ties, between the two countries.
The two ministers exchanged views on global developments. They also talked about working closely in multilateral forums. They also discussed the India African Union partnership. Jaishankar said the relationship between India and Ethiopia is built on shared values, common aspirations and longstanding solidarity between developing countries.
Jaishankar arrived in Addis Ababa from Côte d’Ivoire. Ethiopia was the last stop on his three-nation African tour. Ethiopian State Minister for Foreign Affairs Berhanu Tsegaye welcomed him at the airport.
During his stay, Jaishankar is scheduled to chair a Regional Heads of Mission conference, attended by Indian ambassadors serving in the region.
